Muteesa I Royal University (MRC) is a private University that was accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (UNCHE) in 2007. its Main Campus is situated in Kirumba Masaka, with other campuses in Mubende and Mengo Kakeeka. The mission of the MRU is to provide an effective and efficient setting for the development of intellectually dynamic individuals, principled and resource l professionals and practitioners. MRU is seeking to recruit highly motivated, innovative and committed candidates to fill the positions highlighted below:

Management information systems Manager
Reports to: Deputy Vice Chancellor Finance and Administration Role Definition: To develop policies and procedure for managing and maintaining ICT infrastructure and provide a user friendly environment and information to enable MRU staff to across information and services necessary to do their work in line with the University objectives.

Key Result Areas/Responsibility

• Develop and implement ICT Policy & Strategy
  
• Maintain server functions for email, internet, databases, file storage and administration
• Facilitate the provision of hardware and software in line with departmental policies and procedures
  install and maintain the LAN, WAN 8 telephone networks
• Maintain security of MRU critical data, e.g. Uganda Standards and provide ICT Training to staff.
• Plan, budget, procure for the unit as well as the ICT and for MRU at large and supervise maintenance of ICT equipment ’
• Design, develop and maintain the corporate website, MRU presence on social media and also Support IT users (providing a help desk)

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Masters degree in Computer Science and Information Technology
• Professional qualifications in CCNA CNNP and other qualifications
• A minimum of 3 years‘ experience in the same position
• Ability to conduct an IT Planning, policy and Feasibility study
• System installation and management skills
  
• Network design, management and services
• Documentation and Information management

Qualifications and experience:

• Be a Professor or an Associate Professor with PhD from a recognized university.
• Have at least eight (8) years hands on management experience at senior level (at least Dean of Faculty) in a
• University or equivalent institution and/ demonstrable leadership and management capacity including knowledge of public financial management and strategic people management.
• Have a capacity to promote teaming and extension in a competitive environment.
• Have ability and leadership skills to effectively coordinate academic functions.
• Be an accomplished scholar with proven track record in formulating and managing academic programmes and supervising and mentoring Masters and PhD Students.
• Should have proven track record of research and published widely in peer reviewed journals, monographs and books.
