JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
The Manager Branch Operations will ensure operational stability, compliance, and effective risk control across branches. The role involves maintaining high standards of operational rigor, embedding controls, optimizing service models, and ensuring that processes are clearly defined, understood, and consistently implemented across branches.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Improvement
o Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement process enhancements.
o Deliver risk frameworks, compliance controls, and corrective actions to address operational risks.
2. Compliance and Change Management
o Ensure compliance with industry legislation and operational rigor standards.
o Influence and manage the implementation of operational and service model changes.
3. Communication and Feedback
o Provide robust communication and feedback to the Head of Distribution Channels and Senior Management.
o Promote self-service electronic channels to optimize customer convenience and reduce service costs.
4. Audit and Risk Management
o Ensure measures are in place to achieve satisfactory audit results in branches.
o Oversee people management, operational risk management, and customer service processes.
5. General Duties
o Manage the Branch Operations rigor budget.
o Avoid regulatory penalties related to branch operations.
o Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies
Education and Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Management, or a related field.
• Certified banking qualifications or a Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
• Practical training in banking operations is essential.
Experience
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience, with at least 2 years in a branch operations role.
Skills and Competencies
• Strong interpersonal and change management skills.
• Experience managing business-critical processes and customer-facing environments.
• Result-driven, analytical, and strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of general banking laws and practices.
• Strong presentation and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to plan effectively, deliver on time, and proactively provide solutions.
• High levels of personal organization and self-accountability for development.
