Job Description
The key focus of a Business Transformation Manager is to develop and execute a comprehensive business transformation strategy that aligns with the Group Digital and Data Strategy. This includes leveraging digital technologies, fostering innovation, and harnessing the power of data analytics to drive organizational change and achieve strategic objectives within Uganda Business Units.
Innovation
Strategy and Vision: Developing and communicating a clear innovation strategy aligned with the organization's overall goals and vision. This includes setting the direction for innovation efforts, identifying target areas for innovation, and defining the desired outcomes.
Idea Generation and Management: Creating mechanisms and processes to encourage idea generation from various sources, such as employees, customers, and external partners. Establishing a structured approach to evaluate, select, and prioritize ideas based on their feasibility, potential impact, and alignment with strategic objectives.
Collaboration and Partnerships: Promoting collaboration and building partnerships both within and outside the organization to foster innovation. This includes engaging cross-functional teams, facilitating knowledge sharing, and establishing relationships with external stakeholders such as research institutions, startups, and industry experts.
Digital Transformation Strategy
• Develop and execute a comprehensive digital transformation strategy aligned with the organizational goals.
• Define clear objectives and key results for digital transformation initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the strategy, adjusting as needed.
Data Analytics and Insights
• Implement data analytics tools and methodologies to extract actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and security.
• Identify and prioritize data analytics initiatives that drive operational efficiency and support business goals.
Project Management
• Lead and manage digital transformation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes
Change Management
• Develop and implement change management plans to facilitate the adoption of business transformation initiatives.
• Overcome resistance to change and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams during the transition period.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to align digital transformation efforts with strategic objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates and reports on the progress of digital transformation initiatives to stakeholders.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, or a related field from a reputable university.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) and/or relevant digital transformation frameworks (e.g., Agile, Lean, Six Sigma) is an added advantage.
Relevant Work Experience
• A minimum of 3 years’ proven experience as a Digital Transformation Manager, CIO, or in a similar leadership role within the financial services industry with a focus on digital transformation and data analytics.
• Demonstrated experience in successfully driving digital transformation initiatives and organizational change management.
Technical Competencies
• In-depth knowledge of digital technologies, data analytics tools, and emerging trends in digital transformation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Change management expertise, with the ability to influence and drive organizational change.
