JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose / Objective:
i. Responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of procurement, supply chain, and logistics operations.
ii. Ensuring the efficient acquisition of materials, equipment, and services, as well as the timely and cost-effective delivery of resources to support road construction projects.
iii. Optimize procurement processes, manage vendor relationships, streamline supply chain operations, and ensure seamless logistics to meet project requirements while minimizing costs and risks.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy:
i. Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with company goals and project needs.
ii. Set procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance.
iii. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic sourcing initiatives.
2. Vendor Management:
i. Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and contracts.
ii. Evaluate supplier performance, quality, and reliability through performance metrics.
iii. Address vendor-related issues and disputes in a professional manner.
3. Supply Chain Optimization:
i. Streamline supply chain processes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials and equipment.
ii. Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet project demands without excessive overstocking.
iii. Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks.
4. Logistics Planning:
i. Plan and optimize transportation routes and schedules to minimize costs and delivery times.
ii. Coordinate with transportation providers and ensure compliance with regulations.
5. Budget and Cost Management:
i. Develop and manage procurement and logistics budgets.
ii. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost reduction measures.
6. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
i. Ensure that procured materials and equipment meet quality standards and specifications.
ii. Ensure compliance with regulations, import/export laws, and customs requirements.
7. Team Leadership:
i. Manage and lead a team of procurement and logistics professionals.
ii. Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
8. Reporting and Analysis:
i. Generate regular reports on procurement, inventory, and logistics performance.
ii. Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving measures.
9. Collaboration: Coordinate with construction teams to communicate resolutions and provide recommendations.
10. Performs any other duty as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
1. Supplier Performance: Evaluate supplier reliability, delivery timeliness, and product quality.
2. Procurement Cycle Time: Measure the time taken to complete the procurement process.
3. Inventory Turnover Rate: Calculate how often inventory is replenished within a specific period.
4. Logistics Cost as a Percentage of Revenue: Monitor transportation and logistics costs relative to revenue.
5. On-Time Delivery: Track the percentage of deliveries made on schedule.
6. Cost Savings: Measure the amount saved through cost optimization efforts.
7. Compliance Rate: Evaluate adherence to procurement policies and regulations.
Work Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
1. Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement procurement and logistics strategies aligned with company goals.
2. Leadership: Effective management and mentorship of procurement and logistics teams.
3. Negotiation Skills: Skill in negotiating favourable terms with suppliers and vendors.
4. Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
5. Communication: Excellent communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
6. Problem-Solving: Capacity to address supply chain disruptions and find effective solutions.
7. Regulatory Expertise: Understanding of customs, import/export regulations, and compliance requirements.
8. Vendor Relationship Management: Building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers.
9. Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
10. Working experience: Possession 10 years working experience in the field with at least 5 years at a supervisory level
