The company has expanded its financial base to over 1 billion Ugandan Shillings within this period.
In order to sustain this progress, the company plans to recruit a self-motivated, experienced, and self-starting professional to manage her financial operations.
2. Reporting Requirements
The Manager will report to the Board of Directors but will be accountable to the company’s general assembly.
3. Key duties and responsibilities
The manager shall be responsible for management of the day to day operations of the company and will participate in all aspects of company management. The manager shall lead the on-the-job training of any other key staff employed by the company and conduct the tasks identified below by applying sound technical practices and methods.
The Manager will:
a. Ensure that financial management arrangements of the company are adequate, satisfactory, acceptable and reliable at all times. These arrangements include planning and budgeting, accounting and record keeping, internal control system, funds flow, financial report, internal and external audit.
b. Ensure that the project financial management systems are functioning appropriately, including preparation of management and statutory financial reports.
c. In collaboration the manager and the company treasurer, support preparation, monitoring and revision of the project’s annual work plan and budget.
d. Ensure that activities listed in the approved work plan are implemented and expenditures made in line with the approved annual budget.
e. Follow up on issues raised by the audits, review audited financial statements and other periodic financial reports received, monitor compliance with financial covenants including audit compliance, ensure adequate communication with the board of directors and other company governance bodies.
f. Ensure full documentation of company expenditures.
g. Provide report, information and support on company Financial Management matters.
h. Prepare all financial reports in accordance with the approved financial (accounting) plan.
i. Prepare and submit daily, weekly and quarterly accounting monitoring reports to the board of directors
j. Prepare and submit the financial statements and cash flows forecasts within the specified time frame and annual financial statements at the end of the financial year.
k. Maintain and ensure safe custody of all financial documentation.
l. Maintain ledgers and implement strong internal control systems in order to facilitate the production of timely, reliable and accurate financial reports.
m. Carry out monthly reconciliations.
n. Perform any other finance and accounts duties as may be assigned by the board of directors
o. Liaising with the loans committee to ensure effective loan application discussions, approvals and disbursements
4. Required skills, competencies and experience
The follow are key qualifications, experiences and competencies required:
a. A University degree in Business Administration, Public administration or other related courses. A professional qualification in project management is an added advantage.
b. Excellent skills in project management and communications, both written and oral, demonstrated in previous jobs.
b. A strong experience of at least 3 years’ general experience in organizational management with a demonstrated strong track record.
b. Proven track record in working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
b. Computer knowledge and skills in MS word, MS excel and internet/email is a mandatory requirement.
5. Performance Indicators:
a. Daily and Weekly updates and Monthly and annual financial reports prepared
b. Loans successfully disbursed
c. Annual and schematic plans prepared and implemented
d. Company financial policies and procedural documents updated
6. Remuneration
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
