JOB DETAILS:
East African Premier Investments Limited (EAPIL) is a private microfinance company limited by shares. It was founded and registered in 2006 by Uganda Development Trust (UDET), to conduct private lending business as a profit generating venture. EAPIL is established by law, with a valid license for Non-Deposit taking institution, to do sustainable and competitive business in the Republic of Uganda and the East Africa region, thus contributing to the Private Sector Driven Economy of the country.
Applications are therefore invited from suitable candidates to fill the position of a Managing Director .

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the day to day Management responsibilities of the Company, reporting directly to the Board and delivering on the company's mission and strategy in line with shareholder expectations.
• Responsible for setting up the general direction of the company by communicating the strategy and vision for the company Determine where everyone will focus their efforts. 3. Pro-actively recommend appropriate changes or improvements to the overall direction, policies and strategy of the organization, solicit advice and seek guidance from the Board whenever appropriate.
• Implement Board policies and directives efficiently, report on all company activities and financial position to the Board in a timely manner.
• Recruit and mentor a strong Management team that reflects the culture and values of EAPIL that is conducive for business growth
• Build a well-motivated team and staff and ensure that they remain working together in a common direction with acceptable behavior.
• Provide guidance to EAPIL credit team during the screening of all loan applications to determine eligibility for funding, examining each loan application received against EAPIL's loan screening checklist and submit recommended applicants to EAPIL's Finance and Board Credit Committees for approval. Make high quality investment decisions to advance the business and increase profits.
• Enforce adherence to legal and regulation guidelines and policies to maintain the Company's legality and business ethics.
• Oversee a high-performing credit portfolio in line with the company's growth-phase business plan and long-term sustainability

Desired Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum qualification: Master's Degree in BBA, Micro Finance and any other related disciplines
• Experience in Credit marketing and Management
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in a reputable lending institution of which at least 4 years must be in the financial service industry and 2 years at executive management in microfinance lending.
• Professional qualification in banking, credit management or Microfinance
• Appreciation of software applications used in microfinance.
• Expansion experience in the financial sector
