Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced individual to transform our marketing capacities and push sales to the next level in new areas within Western Uganda and beyond. We have worked hard to develop an effective production system and have invested into transport for our product, currently maize flour. We are exhausting the market in the local areas and need someone to take the lead on developing new market linkages. We expect this person to be highly capable in developing a company marketing strategy, contributing to advertising materials and having exceptional skills in identifying and negotiating with buyers, especially at the institutional and wholesale level.

Responsibilities:
• Contributing to regular market assessments and customer/distribution route mapping
• Setting sales targets, concentrating on institutional and wholesale buyers
• Developing a marketing strategy to integrate into the company’s financial model
• Help coordinate advertising/communications campaigns
• Join the driver and distributors on sales activities to deliver product direct to customers
• Ensuring an efficient system of customer feedback with the company
• Liaising with procurement and production to ensure timely delivery of product to the sales department
• Other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Experience/Qualifications:
• 5+ years of practical experience in marketing agricultural products with a preference on Western Uganda
• Experience in marketing maize and/or other grains specifically
• Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing or related disciplines
• Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, agronomy, or other disciplines directly relevant to the position
• Experience in sales within Western Uganda with an existing network of key contacts
• Excellent planning and organisational skills are required.
• Strong data management skills and attention to detail are required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
• Knowledge of agroecology and regenerative farming practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft office and excel and in google workspace applications (google sheets, docs and gmail)
• Ability to speak local languages
• Fluency in written and spoken English
