Key Result Areas:
1. Provide technical support in the installation of new machines in the plant.
2. Diagnose and attend to all mechanical faults and breakdowns.
3. Conduct preventive, autonomous, breakdown maintenance.
4. Report and assist in the analysis of incidents or potential hazards.
5. Monitor and record the use of work place consumables and make requisitions where required.
6. Use and maintain workshop tools in accordance to working conditions and specifications.
7. Daily check and confirm that machines meet safety standards.
8. Plan and develop work schedules, equipment usage schedules and procedures for equipment maintenance.
9. Prepare daily maintenance reports for submission to the Mechanical Supervisor and Production Officer.
10. Provide operational support to the Machine Operators.
11. Participate in daily housekeeping practices. The position reports into the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.

Educational Qualifications & Experience
1. Higher or Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any related discipline.
2. 3 years’ experience of electrical repair and maintenance which includes one year of supervisory experience.

Skills & Professional Attributes
1. Extensive knowledge of Mechanical components and its applications.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of Mechanical maintenance, production processes and controls logic. Possess strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical and troubleshooting skills.
3. Self-motivated with excellent personnel management skills.
4. Ability to handle multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced working environment.
5. Possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
6. Excellent team player and has the ability to manage time in an efficient manner.

REPORTING TO SHIFT SUPERVISOR, THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL;

Key Result Areas:
1. Preventive maintenance of production machines,
2. Operate production machines efficiently in the absence or guidance of a machine operator,
3. Control wastage of materials,
4. Ensure housekeeping guidelines are adhered to,
5. Adhere to health and safety practices,
6. Assist in loading raw materials in the machines,
7. To oversee housekeeping around the machine area ,
8. Ensuring that the products produced are of good quality,
9. Detect and report any faults to the machine to the Machine Operator,
10. Any other duties assigned by the Machine Operator,
11. May be required to work for long hours,
12. Exposure to high temperatures, dust, dirt, and noise levels from the equipment,
13. Maintenance duties also may require contact with oil, grease, or smoke,
14. Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate should possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), majoring in sciences with at least one year’s relevant working experience in a manufacturing company.

Must have excellent professional, integrity, analytical, innovative, good communication, and team work and customer care skills.
