JOB DETAILS:
Our client, United Nations Federal Credit Union, is looking for individuals with high integrity, leadership abilities and commitment to fill the position of Member Service Representative.
The Member Service Representative will be responsible for determining members' financial needs and making referrals where necessary, promoting the Credit Union's product line, processing new accounts/loan applications, resolving member account/loan problems, and assisting members to the fullest extent possible. He/she will provide support as needed with various administrative functions related to the operations of the Entebbe and Kampala Representative Offices.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide a memorable member experience at each and every touch point;
2. Deepen connections with members to better understand their needs by asking effective questions and building relationships;
3. Become a trusted advisor to members by presenting the features and benefits of UNFCU's products and services;
4. Investigate issues with member accounts/
5. loans, determine action necessary to resolve the issues, ensure action is taken in a timely fashion and keep members informed of the status of their issues;
6. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and UNFCU policies and procedures, and keep abreast of changing/new regulations, UNFCU products, procedures and technology. Verify eligibility of prospective members, establish new memberships, and open new accounts;
7. Respond to members' telephone inquiries and requests, and prepare responses to member correspondences;
8. Maintain confidentiality of all member account information; and
9. Make member presentations and carry out member service calls to members within their location and out of duty stations as required.
Minimum qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills
The ideal candidate should possess;
1. A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a financial institution; Experience in handling retail banking products and services is preferable;
2. Knowledge of regulations pertaining to accounts, services, confidentiality and lending and/or ability and willingness to learn these as well as other skills and practices;
3. Must possess a strong service and sales orientation;
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and Swahili required);
5. Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy, and have awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences of others;
6. Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively.
