Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
Q-Sourcing Servtec Group is looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Mentorship and Training Specialist for one of our clients CNOOC Uganda Limited.
Location: Kampala, Lake Albert production installation base or other cities in Uganda if required.
Primary function:
1. Responsible for designing and implementing customized mentorship programs for Technical and Project teams to support capacity building especially for Nationals.
2. Responsible for identifying and bridging knowledge gaps in the national technical staff by conducting skills gap analyses to achieve the company-desired goals.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and coordinate all aspects of the Mentorship program for nationals in the Project teams, which consists of a set of workshops on developing and strengthening mentoring and coaching competencies.
2. Liaise with the Training and Development section in HR to identify capable technical mentors and assign them to respective mentees.
3. Drive the overall cycle of mentorship in project teams, including scheduling, tracking mentees, and maintaining up-to-date and accessible materials for discussions and workshops.
4. Provide technical support to the recruitment team by analyzing, assessing and attending technical interviews
5. Liaise with Department Managers in all Project teams to implement mentorship and coaching programs in their respective departments
6. Create shared resources for mentees and mentors, toolkits, handouts, and materials to facilitate active learning and reflection.
7. Design and implement an integrated technical training matrix to capture training needs in the technical/Project teams.
8. Devise effective means and tools to determine and assess the overall effectiveness of technical training programs and implement improvements.
9. Liaise with Human Resources to identify and develop career paths for junior Engineers in Project teams especially Drilling & Completion in line with the Nationalization plan.
10. Liaise with CNOOC HQ to identify placement opportunities for Junior Engineers in the technical teams.
11. Establish effective methods and means to facilitate Technology and knowledge transfer from expatriates to national staff to support capacity building.
12. Coordinate and liaise with the relevant technical departments and CNOOC HQ, to standardize activities and submit reports according to requirements.
13. Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Petroleum Engineering or related courses in Oil and Gas.
2. At least 10 years’ similar experience with 5 years in the Oil and Gas industry.
3. A solid background in Drilling and Completion Engineering and broad understanding of drilling processes is a must.
Knowledge:
1. Ability to design technical training and organize the programs
2. Extensive knowledge of well control technology.
3. Top-notch tracking and intervention abilities.
4. Advanced level time management skills and ability to effectively work on multiple projects at a time and prioritize flexibly as needed.
