JOB DETAILS:

Our client is a leading brand in the dairy production industry in East Africa, and is looking to source brilliant talent to ensure that their productivity is high and that the highest milk quality standards are achieved and maintained.
They seek to fill the vacancy of Milk Procurement, Extension Quality and Extension Services Manager and we invite qualified, competent and interested applicants to apply fill the role.

REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER – MILK PROCUREMENT AND EXTENSION

Main Purpose/Mission of the job:
Responsible for ensuring the raw milk quality standards are achieved and continuously monitor quality of the raw milk as well improve and grow the services offered to the milk suppliers.

Key Result areas:

• Liaise with the farmers groups and suppliers in ensuring that the milk quality standards are adhered to.
• Oversee the grading, cooling and transportation of raw milk to the main factory.
• Coordinate ISO/HACCP standards implementation.
• Conduct route and plant audit and advise staff on the process.
• Prepare and conduct farmers’ trainings on clean milk production and attending raw milk procurement meetings.
• Monitor and advise MPE staff on key performance indicators.
• Assist in the initial set up of all cooling plants.
• Train and monitor and put in place a quality control team.
• Plan, organise and monitor field operations to all bulking centers and transportation to the main factory.
• Oversee and ensure CIP standards are adhered to in all MPE centres and areas of operation.
• Ensure proper maintenance of all MPE records.
• Any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time by your immediate supervisor.

Knowledge/Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Food Science and Technology or Agriculture or Animal Production from recognised University/Institution (Masters of Science in Agriculture or Food Science and Technology is an added advantage).
• Management and supervisory skills
• Knowledge and good understanding of Diary Technology
• Should be exposed in Quality Management Systems
• Good communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills
• Should be computer literate
• Ability to interact with milk suppliers
• Should have a valid driving permit
• Work experience of three (3) to five (5) years in a similar industry
