JOB DETAILS:
Primary Functions
• To supervise various underground mining operations of the company
• To plan, design & supervise implementation of mine plans for maximizing the Gold Ore production and meet production targets
• To ensure safety in all mining operations
• To plan, design & implement new mining operations

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise the overall day to day mining operations, performance, co-ordination, management and maintenance of the designated mine/project to assist in obtaining maximum productivity, efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the organisation upholding all aspects of compliance and standards and adhering to budget and other applicable criteria
• Develop further understanding of the geology of the mining lease area (0.5 sq. kms) and develop and enhance the 3D model for Ore bodies within the Mining lease. This has to be done with Mine geologist
• Conduct preliminary surveys and studies of mineral deposits to assess the economic and environmental feasibility of potential mining operations/site
• Supervise drilling and blasting operations; Determine and advise on appropriate drilling and blasting methods for mining

Qualifications & Experience
• National Diploma in Mining or equivalent
• At least 10 years’ experience in Underground Gold mining, with 3-4 years’ experience in small scale mining

Skills & Competencies
• Extensive knowledge of mining operations and project management.
• Extensive knowledge of shaft timbering & shaft construction
• MUST have constructed both timber lined and concrete lined shafts
• MUST have experience in Shaft sinking
• Strong organizational, planning and communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects.
• Good command of both written and spoken English.
• Good computer skills.
• Experience in working in greenstone belt with narrow vein is an added advantage
