JOB DETAILS:
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Under the supervision of the National Coordinator, the Youth Coordinator will perform the following functions: support Activity planning, manage engagement with youth, support training and related activities, coordinate with relevant stakeholders including youth networks, and coordinate organizational learning. and reporting.
Education and Experience:
• A first degree or professional qualification in peace and security studies, public administration and management: development studies; international relations, or a relevant field
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience working in a relevant
• political, social, and economic issues in Uganda, and an interest in conflict prevention. peace-building, and governance programming involving young people Experience working in peace-building will be an advantage
• Experience working with youth networks, youth policy, and engagement with the government will be an advantage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) and social media.
• Some experience of participating in and running youth programs is beneficial but not required Knowledge of and interest in the electoral processes and social justice issues
• Ability to relate to young people A self-starter with organizational and time
• Strong management skills
• Must be grounded and organized and yet flexible and open to the changing demands
• Willing to step into tasks as needed and requested by management
