JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE
To plan and execute network operation and maintenance activities, in line with business requirements and procedures defined in the company’s Operating Guidelines, in order to achieve Infrastructure network availability and performance targets (SLA’s) as agreed to with Ubuntu’s clients.
To provide efficient, effective management of all the passive infrastructure maintenance performed by the O&M contractor on the company’s owned and managed sites.
To ensure the Operations and Maintenance department is run smoothly and effectively using the available tools and resources.
To drive improvement in the quality of service and ensure the network performs optimally in terms of design, operation, and service delivery.
To work closely with the OD in drive down of network OpEx and infrastructure improvement.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
EDUCATION: A BSC degree or HND in Electrical/ Telecom engineering
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3-5 years of Operational Management experience, management of O&M contractors
KNOWLEDGE: Telecoms passive infrastructure, Telemetry systems, Performance Management, Project Management systems, MS Projects, MS Office suite
SKILLS: Leadership, performance driven, analytical, task orientated, accurate and attention to detail.

KEY PEFORMANCE AREAS
Network Management, Availability, and MTTR
• Ensure availability SLA is achieved (both Operator and O&M contractor)
• Ensure MTTR SLA is achieved (both Operator and O&M contractor)
• Ensure PM and CM are performed accurately, and reports are timely submitted.
• Ensure that repeat faults are tracked and resolved
• Ensure all power systems installed meet required standards and are of correct ratings as recommended by the company.
• People Management
• Ensure staff adheres to minimum company requirements, processes and policies of employment always.
• Training and development of internal staff are done as per company policy to enhance retention and better understanding of their performance requirements.
• Maintain employee satisfaction levels at a high and keep turnover at a minimum
• Ensure the O&M contractors have the required staff in place per region/GMT
• Ensure the O&M Contractor staff have the right knowledge, skillset and attitude to undertake the day to day tasks on the network.
• Ensure the O&M Contractor staff and regions/GMT have the right Tools, Spares, Scopes and Standard operating parameters by equipment to maintain the network
• Ensure O&M Contractors continuous improvement in delivery of quality services based on their timely monthly reviews.
• Ensure appropriate and timely communication with all stake holders (Operators, O&M contractors and Internal Staff).
• Conduct periodic meetings with all stakeholders (O&M contractors, O&M Staff) to align Ubuntu Towers short- and medium-term objectives
• Business Process Management
• Ensure that all stakeholder SLAs and their objectives are met (Operator, O&M Contractor and Ubuntu Towers)
• Ensure all O&M staff understand all the processes and tools used to run the business.
• Draft scopes/ processes for site activities such as PM, CM, and planned works such as NCR/ WO.
• Ensure all O&M contractors/Other service providers follow internal processes and documents to meet their obligations
• Ensure correct and proper representation of information on any site and assets therein.
• Ensure proper and smooth integration of new sites from Projects into the O&M stream
• Organise/conduct governance meetings with all Operators to address issues.
• SHERQ
• Ensure full compliance with SHERQ regulations by all stakeholders (Operator, O&M contractors, Ubuntu Towers)
• Ensure all tools/products purchased med recommended standards and users are fully trained
• Ensure all O&M staff understands all SOP and how to use tools provided to run the business.
• Maintain the Quality standard set during ISO certification (Plant and asset integrity) - Generators
• Maintain the Quality standard set during ISO certification (Plant and asset integrity) - Air conditioners
• Maintain the Quality standard set during ISO certification (Plant and asset integrity) - Rectifiers
• Enforce efforts and systems put in place to mitigate climate change
• Ensure proper transportation, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste/recovered batteries and other used parts.
• Facilitate all stakeholders in the generation, creation, generation and maintenance of evidence related to ISO certifications.

Financial Management
• Ensure all O&M budgets are maintained, and all network corrective actions are prioritized.
• Recommend and maintain already available efficiency projects for Opex
• Provide strategic information to mitigate network risks
• Provide strategic information/data for all business cases
• Ensure rewards are earned based on delivery of availability and reduced MTTR
• Draft scopes/procedures for routine site activities like PM, CM, and planned works (NCR/ WO)
