JOB DETAILS:
Founded in 1950, Doctors with Africa CUAMM is an Italian organization engaged in the health sector in Sub-Saharan Africa and it operates in 8 countries (Angola, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia and Mozambique), where it delivers health programmes and expertise to help bring health services closer to the neediest and suffering. In partnership with Christian Blind Mission, CUAMM in Uganda is starting a new project in West Nile named: Inclusive emergency initiative to strengthen health services and hygiene practices in refugee and host communities in West Nile, Uganda. The project, which is funded by the Italian Government has the following results areas; R1: Access to integrated health services and basic health practices have improved among refugees and host communities in Terego district; R2: Hygiene practices of refugees and host communities in Terego district are strengthened, with special attention to women and people with disabilities; R3: Referral services for the most vulnerable groups are strengthened and actors present have the capacity to implement inclusive humanitarian intervention. Applications are invited for an orthopedic officer to work in this project and a Human Resource Manager to be based in Kampala. See details below.

Function:
• Under the project AICS EMERGENZA WEST NILE AID 012459/01/1
• s/he will provide holistic orthopedic services; assessment, diagnosis and treatment of inpatients and out patients across Invepi Refugee Settlement, who suffer from muscular and/ or skeletal injuries.

Job requirements:
• Diploma in Orthopedics or its equivalent from a recognized;
• Registered with and licensed by the Allied Health Professionals' Council for 2023;
• A minimum of two years of working experience (Post qualification) in a hospital setup is an added advantage.
