The World Health Organization, Uganda Country Office is looking for a qualified and competent Ugandan national to fill the following vacant position:
Background and Justification
In the context of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) 13th General Programme of Work (GPW) and its Triple-Billion objectives, the Partnerships Officer will support external relations and partnerships activities at the WHO Uganda Country Office.
The incumbent will be working under the guidance of the External Relations Officer and in close collaboration with technical officers who lead the different clusters and programmes at the Country Office especially the Universal Health Coverage Life Course Cluster Lead, the Communications Team, the Programme Management Officer as well as the management of the Country Office. He/she will also work in close collaboration and coordination with his/her counterparts at WHO AFRO to align on partnerships objectives and achieve common goals.
Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the External Relations Officer, the incumbent is responsible for supporting all partnerships related activities including:
Support WHO Partners Collaboration and Coordination:
Support WHO regular partners coordination and collaboration and that during the current Ebola response and that of any other emergency response during the contract period.
Support to Health Development Partners Group (HDP):
WHO is the secretariat to the HDP group and through this role, WHO supports and facilitates the work of the HDPs to further enhance linkages, meet information and communication needs. WHO works in close collaboration with the HDP, and with the chair, in all administrative tasks relating to coordination of HDP.

Experience and skills description:
o At least 2 years of professional experience at the national and/or international level in one or more relevant fields: partnerships, resource mobilization, programme management and coordination.
o Candidates with 7 or more years of professional experience in the above-mentioned areas are desirable.
o Experience with WHO or other UN organizations or INGOs especially around the areas of report writing is required.
o Knowledge of the global humanitarian and development assistance architecture.
o Strong oral and writing skills in English.
o Excellent command of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
o Proven experience in producing high-quality publications and other types of written outputs including policy reports, academic papers, and briefings.
o Experience in mapping exercises, 4/5Ws tools, producing reports and maps.
o Ability to deliver quality outputs under tight deadlines and minimum supervision while managing a multitude of stakeholders.
o Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with others in a multi-cultural environment.
