JOB DETAILS:
JOB TITLE : PLANNING/ SCHEDULING SPECIALIST
REPORTS TO : SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY
The Planning/ Scheduling specialist will develop and maintain the Master Scheduling business process. Working with multiple departments, determine and align resources, establish planning cycle and maintain real-time, accurate and visible production status and schedule. Manage and monitor, coordinate and expedite the flow of documentation, work and materials within or between departments and facilities according to the production schedule. Collaborate with Customer Care to determine the progress of work and completion dates. Provide reports and metrics related to progress of work, inventory levels, materials availability, production problems and on-time schedule.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop scheduling methodology that delivers a stable schedule, while still delivering agility when/where needed.
• Create supporting Master Scheduling policies.
• Serve as the initial point of contact for all scheduling or scheduling changes.
• Maintain and indicate the status of each job through document review, Job reports, personal interaction and observation and accordingly communicate gaps and priorities.
• Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs or other interruptions, collaborating with Customer Care, Production and Engineering.
• Compile information such as materials inventories, materials used, materials available and customer information so that status reports can be completed.
• Develop Master Scheduling tools that allow cross-plant schedule integration.
• Resolve demand/supply/capacity issues.
• Manage and regularly communicate manufacturing lead-time estimates.
• Ensure maximum usage of the ERP system.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications & Experience
• 4-5 years of business experience in Operations or Supply Chain in a medical equipment facility or pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Strong understanding of managing flow and capacity
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills - both written and oral.
• Demonstrated skills interacting at various levels of an organization.
• Experience driving organizational change.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing is a must.
• Experience in regulated industries such as Medical Devices (such as NDA or WHO ISO 13485) is preferred.
