Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology; or Engineering; or Mineral Economics; or Mineral Law; or Mine Surveying; or Geoscience plus a Master of Science Degree in any Geosciences or in any of the above fields from a recognized University / Institution. Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma or training in any of the following, Mineral Policy and Law, Regulation and Management of Mining, Environmental Management; Management or Natural Resource Management will be an added advantage.

Working Experience
Applicants should have six (6) years relevant working experience three (3) of which should have been served at Senior level in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner (Geoscience) for performing the following duties:-
1. Preparing work plans, budgets and performance reports for the Division;
2. Participating in reviewing application work programs for the grant of Mineral Rights;
3. Reviewing geological reports and supervising geological investigations in mineral rights areas;
4. Participating in updating and validating spatial data on the Mining Cadastre and Registry System;
5. Supervising the updating of the national mineral tracking database;
6. Generating comparative analysis of national mineral statistics;
7. Participating in the generating, updating, interpreting and publishing of geoscience for mineral investment promotion;
8. Integrating the Mining Cadastre and Registry System with the land information systems to produce updated maps and mineral concession maps;
9. Preparing Quarterly and Annual Reports for the Mines Department;
10. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
