Post: Principal Health Inspector – 1 Post

Salary scale: U3
Reports to: Assistant Commissioner, Inspection, Sanitation and Hygiene
Qualifications:
• A Diploma in Environmental Health from a recognized University or
Institution.
• A Diploma in Management or Administration from a recognized
University or Institution.
Experience:
Should have at least six (6) years working experience, three (3) of which should be at the level of Senior Health Inspector.
Other requirements:
Should have strong management, communication, and interpersonal skills, high integrity and a community service ethic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Contribute to policy formulation regarding sanitation and hygiene.
b) Provide technical support to Districts and Urban authorities in sanitation and hygiene related activities.
c) Promote the development of sanitation and hygiene education materials.
d) Support districts to carry out home and environmental improvement campaigns.
e) Monitor and evaluate environmental sanitation activities.
f) Support development/review of regulations and guidelines on sanitation.
g) Advocate for compliance with regulations and guidelines on sanitation and hygiene.
h) Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

a) Academic and professional certificates (UCE, UACE, Professional Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees, Fellowships).
b) Evidence of training in specialized areas where applicable.
c) Letters of appointment, confirmation and promotion where applicable.
d) Registration certificates and valid practicing licenses for health workers who are required by law to register with relevant Professional Councils.
e) National and current Institutional Identity Cards.
f) Priority should be given to uploading only the relevant documents specified in the job specifications.

4. It is emphasized that:

e) Health Workers who are on long term training (one year and above) must not apply.
