JOB SUMMARY
As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process for our medical device production. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services necessary for our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, supply chain management, and a deep understanding of the medical devices industry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sourcing and Vendor Management:
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
• Take part in Negotiating supplier agreements, contracts, and terms
Material Procurement:
• Procure materials, components, and equipment required for medical device production.
• Ensure timely delivery and inventory management to meet production schedules.
• Cost Management:
• Continuously assess and optimize costs and lead cost-reduction initiatives.
• Monitor and communicate market trends and industry developments for decision making.
Quality Assurance:
• Collaborate with quality control and assurance teams to ensure materials meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
• Implement business continuity plans to address supply chain disruptions.
• Compliance:
• Stay informed about relevant regulations and industry standards in medical devices manufacturing.
• Perform all procurement activities in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Data Analysis:
• Generate and make available procurement data and key performance indicators for decision-making.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality control, to meet manufacturing goals.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• Membership with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is an added advantage.
• 5 years proven experience in procurement, preferably in the medical devices manufacturing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and vendor management.
• Experience with computerized purchasing systems would be a plus
• Previous experience using SAP is required
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements in medical device manufacturing. ISO 13485
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
