The Environment Conservation Trust of Uganda (ECOTRUST)- is a Ugandan NGO whose goal is to provide long term sustained- funding for biodiversity consen/ation and environmental- management. ECOTRUST has an established valued Niche- in Consen/ation Financing, which consists of: and is currently- in the process of launching a new strategic direction, which- emphasizes; Rural livelihood and resilience in high climate- risk areas, Private land trust management in fragile corridors,- integrity and functionality of protected natural capital as well as- Institutional re-engineering and capitalization of ECOTRUST for- long term sustainability. As part of this process, ECOTRUST seeks- applications from very dynamic self - driven professionals to join- its team in the position of Programme Manager described below:-

Programme Manager

Key Basic Functions: Reporting to the Executive Director,- the Programme Manager is responsible for managing strategic- programmatic initiatives of ECOTRUST guided by the Business- Strategic Plans. The key result areas include:
- Take lead of the initiation and implementation of ECOTRUST- programme /Project activities
- Establish and implement structures that support efficient- capacity building, financial management and mobilize- programme / project resources.
- Document and publish best practices of ECOTRUST- programmes /Projects.
- Organize policy advocacy activities on key programmatic- issues-

Minimum Academic Qualifications: Master of Science degree- in natural resources management preferably in the area of- ecology or any related field.-

Personal Specifications & Experience: Mission directed,- Dynamic, Visionary, Proactive with good sense of judgment!- discernment. At least five years’ experience preferably with an- NGO at senior management level and in rural development and /- or natural resources management.-

Desired Skills & competencies: project development and- management, Administrative, Strategic planning, Negotiation,- Interpersonal, proposal writing (with evidence of having- successfully fundraised for at least 2 programs) as well as- Leadership and team building-skills.-
