JOB DETAILS:
The Programme Coordinator in Uganda will be working in close collaboration with the Desk officer for Uganda from SOS Faim Belgium, based in Brussels (Belgium).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Technical, administrative and financial supervision of the SOS Faim programme in Uganda:
• Participate in the development strategy in Uganda, assess the current partners, organize and carry out technical assistance to them, ensure good coordination and articulation between the components and the work of the partner organizations,…
• The management of SOS Faim’s institutional relations in Uganda:
• Represent SOS Faim to its partners and other civil society organisations, ensure good communication with stakeholders in Uganda, actively participate in relevant networks for SOS Faim,…
• In due course, the development and management of the local SOS Faim office:
• Collect the information necessary for the official recognition of SOS Faim Belgium in Uganda, organise field missions (particularly for colleagues from headquarters), meetings with partners, manage the budget made available to the future “local office”, monitor and screen potential partners, donors or calls for proposals in line with the objectives of SOS Faim in Uganda,…

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The ideal applicant must hold a University degree preferably in rural development, social sciences, economics, agriculture, natural resource management
• Extensive experience and knowledge in advocacy related to the promotion of small-scale farmers, sustainable food systems and agroecology
• Extensive experience in coaching farmers’ organizations especially on economic and market issues
• Extensive knowledge of agriculture markets (local, national, international), value chain development and inclusive family farming
• Experience in managing institutional partnerships
• Knowledge of agriculture (micro) finance mechanisms and/or gender issues
• Deep interest in rural development and poverty alleviation issues
• Clear vision of development challenges
• High respect of rural stakeholders
• Networking skills
• High level of English
• French would be appreciated
