Rego Foundation is a youth-led Non-profit Organisation working to transform the lives of economically marginalized women and girls in Uganda. Our goal is to end gender inequality by eradicating all forms of discrimination and violence against women and girls in Uganda. We have operated in Uganda since 2016. Our work is guided by these objectives; (i)To promote awareness, prevention and care for women and girls subjected to violence. (ii)To increase women’s access to finance and development of additional livelihoods. (iii) To raise awareness and end harmful practices such female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage. (iv)To build safe, healthy and enabling learning environments for underprivileged girls.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Programmes Manager
Rego Foundation is seeking to recruit a dynamic and talented Programmes Manager to oversee the smooth running of its programs and activities. Rego Foundation’s focus is to end gender inequality by eradicating all forms of discrimination and violence against women and girls by empowering women and girls to reach their full potential and become self-sufficient through resource programs, livelihood development, mentorship and technology.
The Programmes Manager will provide program oversight, contribute to fundraising and partnerships, learning and people management. .

Responsibilities and Tasks
Programme oversight and learning
• Support Rego Foundation’s programmes design and development, and lead regular review of programmes to ensure management for impact.
• Establish and maintain feedback mechanisms to reflect and refine program delivery and quality; ensuring all key stakeholders are providing and receiving feedback.
• Oversee development of programme materials (manuals and other training materials) and provide programme guidance for staff and training associates.
• Document evidence of good practice for both internal and external learning and ensure systematic integration and application of organisational learning.
• Working closely with the President & CEO, to take full responsibility of programme risk management by analysing data, anticipating, identifying and mitigating risk factors.
• Take lead on the production and consolidation of both external and internal programme reports and review reports to ensure good quality reporting before submission.
Fundraising, partnership and grant management
• Identify, develop and manage Rego Foundation’s programme partnerships with partners, donors, NGOs and other key stakeholders.
• Oversee all programme events to raise the profile of the Organisation.
• Represent Rego Foundation in local and national forums and platforms.
• Ensure quarterly reporting of our activities to partners and ensure participation as required in meetings and events.
• Establish and work closely with the Fundraising Unit.
• Liaise with the programme, finance, and monitoring and evaluation teams to ensure timely development and submission of donor and partner reports.
• Support new business development (program design).
Financial planning and management; work closely with the finance unit:
• Lead on developing, managing and regularly reviewing the programme budget.
• Support development of donor budgets and expenditures reports.
• Support development of annual programme budgets and quarterly reforecasts.
• Ensure adequate budget monitoring and tracking of all relevant programme budgets.
• Working directly with the Finance Director to ensure financial policy and procedure is adhered to by the team.
• Ensure that value for money is obtained.
Personal management
• Line and performance manage programme coordinators, serving as a role model at all time.
• Coordinate training and other capacity-building initiatives for staff as required.
• Take charge of the performance management cycle for your programme staff while ensuring that all staff in the Programmes Unit have up to date performance objectives and career development plans and that Line Management and Performance Management meetings are happening.
• Support Recruitment, selection, and orientation of new staff.
• Ensure human resource policy and procedures are adhered to by your team.
• Ensure volunteer and staff welfare with support from your Senior Manager.
Other duties as required;
• Other duties as required. Occasionally working on weekends, late night in case of volunteer incidents and holidays for which time off in lieu can be taken.

Selection criteria
• The applicants for the Rego Foundation Programmes Manager job opportunity should hold a Graduate-level Degree in relevant field of study. Post graduate studies are an added advantage.
• At least three years of experience in programme management, including proven experience of managing advocacy programmes in a nonprofit setting.
• Strong partnership development and networking skills.
• Excellent numeracy skills with strong experience in budget management.
• Excellent understanding of project cycle management.
• Good understanding and practical experience in women empowerment programs in Uganda.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Experience of donor management and reporting.
• Ability to lead, inspire and develop a talented team, including experience of managing young staff with limited experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound operational decisions.
• Strong team player able to work under own initiative.
• Willingness to travel to rural areas as required.
• A strong personal commitment to the vision and values of Rego Foundation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), fluency in written and spoken English essential and excellent IT skills.
• Experience working in a youthful, multicultural environment.
• Risk mitigation, response and management.
• A clear understanding of contemporary development issues particularly those related to economic opportunities for women and girls, sexual and reproductive health and gender-based violence.
