Project Procurement Specialist
Introduction The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) with Global Agricultural and Food Security Program (GAFSP) implement a nutritionagriculture linked project. This grant supports a fiveyear Multi-sectoral Food Security and Nutrition Project (UMFSNP) and is supervised by the World Bank. The overall objective of the grant is to support the Government through Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries in its efforts to: Increase food & nutrition security, raise agricultural productivity, and improve rural incomes.
The project is implemented by MAAIF, MOH, MOES, MOLG, OPM and District Local Governments of Kabale, Ntungamo, Isingiro, Bushenyi, Kasese, Kabarole, Kyenjojo, Arua, Nebbi, Kiryandongo, Namutumba, Iganga, Bugiri, Maracha and Yumbe. The project objective is to increase production and consumption of micronutrient-rich foods and utilization of communitybased nutrition services in smallholder households in project areas with the key components being;
• Delivery of Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Services at Primary School and Community Levels
• Strengthening Capacity to Deliver Nutrition Interventions
• Project Management, Monitoring, Evaluation and Knowledge Generation.
• The Uganda Multi-sectoral Food Security and Nutrition Project (UMFSNP) wishes to recruit procurement specialist to support project implementation.
The Ministry invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to apply for this position.
Applicants should fill Public Service Commission (PSC) Form 3 (2008) in triplicate and attach certified copies of academic certificates, appointment letters, two referees, one of whom must be a current or previous employer and most recent passport photographs.
