JOB DETAILS:
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Product Strategy and Planning:
o Develop and execute product strategies that align with company goals and market opportunities.
o Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
o Define product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle, ensuring products meet customer and business requirements.
2. Product Development and Management:
o Lead the development and launch of new products and services.
o Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
o Manage product performance, gather customer feedback, and implement continuous improvements.
3. Market Analysis and Positioning:
o Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
o Develop pricing strategies, positioning, and messaging to differentiate products in the market.
o Create and maintain product documentation, including specifications, user guides, and training materials.
4. Stakeholder Management:
o Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and senior management, to gather requirements and communicate product updates.
o Act as the product ambassador, promoting products internally and externally.
5. Performance Tracking and Reporting:
o Monitor and analyze product performance metrics to assess success and identify areas for improvement.
o Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on product performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• MBA (Master of Business Administration) or a related advanced degree.
• Significant experience in product management, preferably in a similar industry.
• Proven track record of successful product development and launch.
• Experience working in diverse market environments, preferably including emerging markets like Uganda.
• Ability to develop and execute comprehensive product strategies.
• Skills in conducting market research to understand customer needs and market trends.
• Experience leading product development and launch processes.
• Collaborative skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales.
• Analytical skills to evaluate market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscape.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to act as a product ambassador and promote products to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in monitoring and analyzing product performance metrics.
• Skills in preparing detailed reports and presentations for senior management.
• Ability to identify areas for improvement and strategic initiatives.
