JOB DETAILS:
Job purpose:
The Public Relations Officer will assist in the planning and implementation of the Fund’s communications/public relations programs, internal and external communication between NSSF and its various publics.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Build and maintain media relations with relevant sections of the media especially reporters and other working media.
• Organise and hold press conferences to publicise the Fund's key milestones/initiatives.
• Maintain an updated list of all key media contacts, all key stakeholders, and photo and video archives of the Fund for reference as and when required.
• Monitor NSSF coverage in all media daily, monthly, and annually compile media analysis reports periodically and maintain an updated online media portal.
• Draft media kits for planned and ad-hoc initiatives, statements, memos, regrets, and responses to requests for donations, and maintain donations register.
• Participate in the implementation of the NSSF Sustainability/CSR program and other public relations-related activities.
• Coordinate staff participation in Sustainability/CSR activities, Corporate League, and internal sports activities
• Participate in planning and execution of the Fund‘s internal and external events.
• Liaise with the PR agency to ensure tasks are executed in a timely manner and to ensure quality work.
• Participate in the implementation of approved stakeholder management strategy to ensure mutual understanding and enhance their relationship with the Fund.
• Ensure timely payments to suppliers and maintain a record of supplier payments, timely media facilitation for press conferences and other media events.
• Provide support to Brand & Marketing and Product Development sections whenever necessary to advance the role of Marketing & Corporate Affairs Department
• Plan and provide editorial support for the Fund’s internal publications and other cross-functional communications materials.
• Participate in the implementation of the Fund‘s Internal Communications Strategy.
• Coordinate staff participation in internal communications campaigns and other initiatives.
Education Requirements:
• A degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field from an accredited University.
Related Job Experience:
• At least 2 years’ experience in a busy media house and 3 years as a PR practitioner in a busy environment

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
