JOB DETAILS:
Job Brief: The QC Supervisor - Welding/NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) reports functionally to the QC Lead and administratively to Construction Quality Manager. Responsible for co-ordinating the day-to-day quality activities of the allocated Lot construction quality staff and CONTRACTORs welding and NDE site works.
They will ensure welding and NDE works are carried out using safe working practices and are completed in accordance with the project codes, standards, drawings, and specifications.
Reports to: Quality Manager
Required Competencies
• Competency and proven experience within Worley or equivalent proprietary management systems and associated desktop applications for project delivery
• Competency within industry applications such as Assure, OMIE, Aconex, SharePoint, Adobe, MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction compliance, risk controls and site HSE hierarchy
• A high focus on identifying and meeting the key project deliverables and quality objectives.
• Understanding the impact of welding quality within the critical path of the construction planning programs
• Knowledge of auditing processes and ISO 9001
• Knowledge and competency within the applicable discipline certification framework, such as CSWIP / BGAS / PCN / AWS / NACE Inspection requirements and certification
• Comprehensive understanding of field welding methodologies and NDE verification processes
• Demonstrate proficiency in the interpretation of engineering shop drawings, isometrics, and weld maps.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis (RCA); data-driven decision, risk analysis, analytical reporting
• Demonstrated communication skills including the ability to articulate welding concerns and solutions with teams consisting of individuals with various technical and educational backgrounds.
• Previous experience working with multicultural contractors' and reporting their quality performance.
• Staff management experience (knowledge of mentoring and motivation techniques)
• Autonomous, self-motivated, and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to change or shifting priorities.
Required Experience
• A minimum of 12-year welding inspection related working experience including at least 8 years’ proven work experience as QA/QC welding and/or NDE supervisor or quality engineer in the oil and gas industry.
• Previous Quality assurance/engineering experience and demonstrated knowledge/use of Quality tools/methodologies.
• 8 years of QC experience working within a cross-functional oil & gas pipeline project team supporting; engineering, interface, contractor construction and commissioning readiness.
• Experienced in analysing welding & NDE metrics to report accurate KPI’s and potential non-compliance trends and status back to the Quality Lead and project management team
Required Qualifications or Education
• Hold a welding inspector or NDE inspector certification issued by a recognised international certification scheme such as CSWIP / AWS / PCN / BGAS or other Company agreed applicable qualification that support the welding assurance management and compliant execution delivery of the onshore Pipeline and related AGI, MST facilities and EITS infrastructure scopes.
