On behalf of our client McDermott, we are looking for a temporary competent, skilled, and experienced Health and Medical Facilities Manager to work on site for a period of 3 months.

Job Purpose
• To promote site Occupational Health awareness and ensure CONTRACTOR and its Sub Contractors comply with their statutory responsibilities in the field of Occupational Health.
• To advise CONTRACTOR and its Sub Contractors on matters pertaining to the Occupational Health of the site employees
• Over see the Management of on-site medical emergencies, medical programs and follow up offsite medical care.
• To assist CONTRACTOR in its compliance with the relevant Project HSSE Policy, Procedures and Practices, including Health Plan, COVID Management Plan, Malaria Control Plan and Emergency Response Plan

The main responsibility of the job holder’s:
• Provide advice on Occupational Health matters – Provide medical health care as required by site employees
• Undertake training of employees in basic first aid and other medical awareness matters if required
• Implement and maintain a site medical records in conjunction with Medical Services Provider.
• Oversee the implementation of the Health Plan, Malaria Plan and Industrial Hygiene programs.
• Perform the role as Leader of the site medical emergency response team and respond to and attend all incidents that require medical assistance
• Assist the Site CONTRACTOR in the role of area authority for CONTRACTOR for the medical evacuation of personnel from site
• Member of the CONTRACTOR Incident Management Team.
• Liaise with Site Wide Services and COMPANY on matters relating to the transfer of injured personnel from site and their aftercare,
• Monitor the aftercare treatment of CONTRACTOR and Subcontractor personnel
• Participate in site HSE meetings when required and other relevant meetings to ensure management are kept informed of all HS and welfare problems of employees and subcontractor employees
• Orgnise régular Heath Campaign in order to raise and maintain employee’s awareness of a healthier lifestyle
• Oversee the Collation, storage and maintenance of personnel medical files for all CONTRACTOR and where required, subcontractor employees as implemented by Medical Service Provider.
• Performing, interpreting and reporting notable trends arising from the site medical reporting system
• Undertake the assessment of the medical surveillance programs of subcontractors – Ensure that the National Content Plan is followed by all parties (McDermott and Subcontractors).
• Managing the training and advancement of local employees and ensuring that knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures are included.

Mandatory Qualifications/Experience:
Qualification: Registered with a Nationally recognised Medical Council as a minimum at Nurse/Paramedic level and preferably hold a degree, diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and/or Medicine.

Experience:
• At Least 2 years experience in major engineering construction projects or in a major petrochemical organization
• Basic computer experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft packages as a minimum
• Good English language reading, writing and speaking
• Individual must be self motivated – Understand the importance of timely completion of task
