Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client LE PETIT VILLAGE HOTEL, we are looking for a suitable, competent and skilled Quality control and assurance officer to work in Uganda.
Reporting to: Director/Operations Manager with a dotted line to the Senior Accountant.
JOB SUMMARY:
Working with the management team, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of Company strategies, policies and practices
A quality assurance officer is responsible for administering audit of the goods or products which have already been checked for quality.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
visiting manufacturing plants, collecting samples from the goods produced and labeling them, performing quality check on the various samples collected, noting down observations taken from various samples, giving quality ratings for samples checked, preparing quality assurance reports for the use of management, giving feedbacks to workers, advising the machining operators and workers to adopt improved manufacturing practices, and guiding quality control executives on quality checking techniques.
A quality assurance officer should have an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree. Several years of experience working in a quality control environment is essential for a quality assurance officer role. Strong knowledge of various manufacturing techniques and quality control techniques is essential.
Key Duties:
1. Establish, develop, compile and monitor the company’s quality assurance program.
2. Inspect and monitor the quality of raw materials, in-process food production batches to ensure that there is compliance with food quality control and sanitation standards and procedures.
3. Develop and monitor the HACCP program (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points); maintain standardized recipes and other records related to HAACP, develop HACCP food production guideline
4. Ensure that internal audits of the systems currently in operation are effectively carried out.
5. Monitor sanitation inspections of all food production areas and equipment
6. Ensure that pest control for the food production areas is effectively carried out and documented.
7. Ensure that the company’s waste management system is effectively carried out according to NEMA guidelines and meeting requirements of Environmental Management System.
8. Ensure that all laboratory practices and procedures are in operation and reviewed.
9. Provide technical reports to management on quality control and assurance issues as required.
10. Take key part in training staff in areas of quality assurance and control, hygiene, food safety and all other areas deemed necessary.
11. chairing departmental meetings and taking part in management meetings.
12. Ensure that finished products are regularly tested in both internal and external laboratories and meet national (UNBS) and international standards
13. Provide assistance to production supervisors and other customers with complaints, emergencies, food safety or delivery issues, solutions to product concerns, recommendations for substitutions, records taken and other food safety and quality related issues
OTHER DUTIES
1. The reviewing of site purchase orders to ensure that the applicable requirements are met
2. The control of on site and off site vendor inspectors
3. The compilation of vendor inspection assignments packages
4. The coordination and resolution of any nonconforming product Reviewing vendors QA/QC systems in accordance with contractual requirements
5. The attendance at site and inspection procurement meetings
6. Coordination of vendor quality approvals when required
7. Ensure the verification of documentation and certificates for materials purchased by vendors
8. Review of suppler quality plans against contract requirements
9. Review procurement documents to ensure that quality requirement have been correctly translated into purchase requisitions and design documents
10. Review supplier inspection procedures and personnel qualifications
11. Review supplier material certificates
12. Take part in supplier audit and surveillances
13. Coordinate with the companies discipline engineers for the resolution of technical discrepancies
14. Coordinate with management for quality improvements
15. Issue of nonconformance reports
16. Track all nonconformance reports
17. Coordinate with the owners representative on all procurement issues
18. Monitor progress of all purchase requisitions
19. The preparation of the companies QA manual control and supervision of all amendments and revisions
20. Control and the distribution of all the company’s quality documentation
21. Monitor all quality related activities on the project
22. Perform all internal and external audits on behalf of the company’s management
23. Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
24. Attend all pre-bid meetings and coordinate all project requirements with the project bidders.
25. Attend client quality management meetings
26. The preparation and control of project quality system management documentation prior to project commencement.
27. Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements
28. Monitor the disposition of all issued nonconformance reports.
29. Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required.
30. Coordinate all QA/QC activities
31. Coordinate all QA/QC activities with the procurement manager
32. Coordinate all quality related correspondence with the customers’ representatives.
33. Monitor statistical method reporting.
34. Action and close all customer complaints.
35. Control all achieve documentation upon the completion of the project.
