Role Overview
Kipekee Solutions Ltd, specializing in blending herbal teas under the Pumzi Teas brand, is seeking a Quality Control Lead to oversee the quality and safety of its products. This full-time role involves developing and implementing quality assurance policies, conducting regular inspections, and leading a team to ensure that all products meet regulatory and company standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with production, procurement, and R&D teams, focusing on continuous improvement and maintaining the highest quality standards.

Roles and Responsibilities
Quality Assurance and Process Monitoring
• Develop and implement in-house quality policies, ensuring employee compliance.
• Oversee production processes and staff to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Plan, execute, and monitor product testing to ensure thorough auditing.
• Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and prepare detailed reports.
Regulatory Compliance and Standards
• Ensure compliance with local and global production standards, including HACCP and GMP.
• Review quality testing policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards.
• Monitor raw material requirements for suppliers and ensure compliance.
• Issue recall notices and manage associated decisions.
Training and Team Development
• Train quality assurance personnel to build a skilled and effective team.
• Collaborate with quality personnel to implement systems, procedures, and standards of operation.
Auditing and Reporting
• Conduct quality audits to ensure compliance with policies.
• Collect inspection data and prepare reports on production line cleanliness and other quality metrics.

Skills and Competencies
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in food quality assurance.
Technical Knowledge
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and standards.
• Experience with HACCP, GMP, and other quality management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
Management and Problem-Solving
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with auditing, inspection processes, and risk assessment.
Communication and Organization
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
