Job details:

Pearl Engineering Company Limited, a Civil, Building, Electrical and Mechanical works Contractor Invites a suitably qualified candidate to apply for the position of Quality Officer.
The position is based at Head Office with frequent travel to Project Work Sites all over the country.

A. Purpose of the Role:
The role is to coordinate and direct quality assurance and quality control process and procedures at the various company sites.

B. Key Deliverables:

1. Improved quality as seen from minimum cost & time spent rectifying defects;
   
2. Timely Quality control reports;
   
3. Timely close out of corrective actions.
   
4. Reduction in material waste
   
5. Nil incidences of materials rejected at the site.

C. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

1. Create companywide awareness on quality management issues.
   
2. Collate QC data for all sites and report consolidated position at month end & year end.
   
3. Inspect materials received at Head Office and at supplier fabrication & woodwork shops prior to delivery of goods to site to confirm conformance to quality requirements.
   
4. Prepare aggregated monthly summary reports on testing and inspection results for all materials at all sites.
   
5. Conduct quarterly site visits to monitor conformance to quality control program by the team.
   
6. Review quality documents submitted by sub-contractors.
   
7. Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on defects on works and materials that do not meet required specifications.
   
8. Assist Project Managers set up a quality management program at new projects.
   
9. Update quality related documents of the IMS that may arise due to change in scope, usability etc.

D. Skills and Competencies:

1. Excellent communication skills.
   
2. Able to work independently & proactive.
   
3. Able to be objective & analytical.
   
4. Ability to plan effectively.

E. Education and Experience:

1. Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering / Bsc. in Civil Engineering.
   
2. Training in Quality Control / Quality Assurance processes.
   
3. At least 4 years of hands on experience in civil & building works.
   
4. Eager to learn new skills.
   
5. Excellent computer knowledge in MS Word, Excel, Project & Access.
