Overview
Our client, an International Micro-Finance company is seeking a Regional Chief Financial Officer (CFO), reporting into the regional Country head of operations/ CEO. The CFO will play a key role within the organization’s senior management structure working closely with all functions as well as with several senior internal and external stakeholders. A collaborator across all functions, you would support and facilitate informed, sustainable, and commercially sound business decisions by providing Management with accurate, innovative, and robust financial management and strategic direction and analysis.

Responsibilities
• Oversee the finance function and deliverables across the organisation ensuring that an effective service is delivered to the business and that a team culture of support, transparency and guidance is maintained across the Finance team and those they interact with
• . • Preparation of monthly management reports tracking financial performance against budget and overall business targets.
• Providing commentary on management reports which includes preparing and presenting Management Reports on an agreed periodic basis.
• Preparation of cashflow forecasts and continued monitoring of cash flow performance, highlighting any risks or concerns with suggestions for resolution. – include preparation and then monitoring
• Variance Analysis around actual results compared to the budget and forecasts for each profit and cost centre
• Play a lead role in compiling the annual budget with senior management
• Analysing trends and financial performance across the business and looking wider at trends across the industry.
• Managing the full month end and year end accounting processes including reconciliations and journals
• Management and development of the Finance Function for the Company. This includes the day-to-day management of all roles within the Finance team to ensure effective service delivery but also going beyond this and acting as a coach and mentor to the team.
• Responsible for ensuring the finance team have meaningful and motivational development plans and discussions that are also aligned to the overall growth and direction of the business.
• To provide guidance and support to Non-Finance Managers and identify and support in the implementation of any training needs in this area that may benefit individuals or teams across the organisation.
• Taking part in systems and process improvement initiatives
• Manage the organization’s Tax Compliance which includes all tax related matters and developing and maintaining a positive and effective working relationship with the Uganda Revenue Authority and any other tax related bodies.
• Plan and oversee all external audit requirements ensuring that external audits are completed accurately, transparently and on time. This includes managing working relationships with all external audit firms appointed. Skills/Qualifications
• Relevant Business/Finance related degree
• Professional and fully completed accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA
• Experience with forecasting and budgeting
• Knowledge of accounting principles and relevant best practice financial and industry standards
• Ability to analyse complex reports
• Ability to effectively communicate accounting concepts to non-finance staff
• Organised and structured in daily duties
• Excellent attention to detail
• Team player with an ability to establish strong relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate business partnering
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
• Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages
• High levels of personal and professional integrity
