JOB DETAILS:
Position Title: Regional Coordinator
Duty Station: Regional Office (Southwestern - Kamwenge); 70% regular field travel
Contract Terms: 2 years renewable
Reporting to: Head of Programs
Management Responsibility: Project Managers, Field Level Finance and Administration Officer and Human Resources Officer.
Position Summary:
The Regional Coordinator will provide day to day leadership and coordination with all project staff and implementing partners in respective regions in the implementation of all the stages of the design and implementation of the BRIDGE project activities and other War Child Canada Projects within their geographical space. The incumbent will ensure that all planned activities are implemented in a timely and efficient, and effective manner and according to the agreed War Child Canada and donor guidelines. The incumbent will provide administrative and management leadership of the sub-offices within their jurisdiction, including finance, grants, procurement, child safeguarding and staff and office security and safety.
Specific Responsibilities:
Project Management and Delivery (50%)
• Ensure the effective and coherent planning, implementation and monitoring of War Child Canada and implementing partner project activities in line with approved project work plans and donor standards
• Foster collaboration within the Regional Office, with Country Sub-Offices in the region, other Regional Offices, and relevant project Managers
• Development and nurturing of regional partnerships and networks in line with regional priorities and in support of the effective delivery of regional project-based activities.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Reporting and Learning (MEARL) (20%)
• Working closely with the Country MEAL Manager, the BRIDEG Project MEAL Lead and other Project Managers to co-develop and implement a robust MEAL framework to measure, document and disseminate progress, results and organizational learning during project implementation for all project activities within the regional geographical space.
• Ensure agreed and adopted MEAL tools are consistently and effectively used throughout the project cycles within the regional geographic space.
Administration, Human Resource (HR) and Operations: (30%)
• Manage and coordinate the general operations of the Regional Office and Sub-offices, particularly the supervision and monitoring of finance, procurement, and operational logistics of program activities, always ensuring that the procedures of WCC regarding finances, banking, logistics, transportation, and procurement are faithfully observed and implemented by all staff.
• Working closely with the BRIDGE Project Director, other Project Directors and the Finance, Grants, and operations team, ensure up-date-date recording and effective management, accountability, and utilization project budgets, goods, supplies and equipment within your management.
• Implementation of the regional capacity development strategy and plan to maximize use of regional resources to address capacity gaps at the regional level
• Contribute to the Uganda Country Program Senior Management Team and provide management support and delivery of high- quality training and technical assistance. .
Requirements:
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or other related fields.
• Post-graduate qualifications in Project Planning and Management are an added advantage
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in project management with a strong HR experience with multi-location/district operations at the regional level within a country.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English including the ability to communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment and diplomatically manage collegial relationships
