JOB DETAILS:
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To perform deconcentrated National Environment Management Authority functions at the regional level
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Spearhead the development and implementation of Regional Work Plans, Budgets and prepare timely reports
2. Develop and implement strategies for preventing and combating environment crime at the regional level
3. Supervise environment baseline verifications, inspections and audits in the region to ensure that developers comply with set standards and certificate conditions
4. Coordinate Lead Agencies, Non State Actors and Private Sector stakeholders at the region
5. Collaborate with other Law Enforcement Agencies at the region to fight against environment crime
6. Design and implement environment education and awareness programs within the region
7. Support environment planning function in the region
8. Provide technical backstopping to Local Governments, Urban Authorities and other stakeholders within the region
9. Effectively manage NEMA Regional Office and programs
10. Mobilize resources for effective environment management at the region
11. Supervise and ensure performance management of all staff at regional level
12. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications
1. An Honors Bachelor's Degree in the relevant field of Environment and Natural Resources Management or Natural Sciences
2. A Master's Degree in the relevant field of Environment and Natural Resources or Natural Sciences or Law or Public Administration or Business Administration
Experience
1. Must have atleast eight (8) years relevant professional working experience in Environment and Natural Resources Management three of which should have been at senior level in a reputable organization.
