Raising Voices ( www.raisingvoices.org ) works to prevent violence against women (VAW) and children (VAC). We are a values-driven organization that collaborates with diverse actors to strengthen violence prevention efforts at national, regional and global levels.
Raising Voices is rolling out and seeking to sustain the implementation of the Good Schools Toolkit (GST) Uganda. The GST is a collection of tools and ideas that educators use to explore what a good school should be and guides them through a six-step systematic and practical process of creating one.

We are currently looking for five (5) experienced individuals to join our team and take on the position of Regional Resource Person (RRP)- Good Schools. A Regional Resource Person (RRP) is an individual recruited through a rigorous process to support the roll out of the GST in an assigned number of schools. This is not a full-time position and an RRP can combine this role with other duties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Supporting schools identified by Raising Voices in Bugiri, Kampala and Wakiso district to complete the cycle of the Good School Toolkit (GST) Implementation; The RRP may also be required to support schools in other districts when need arises;
• Supporting teacher protagonists to develop and implement termly GST Action Plans at respective schools and communities to sustain this intervention. A sample template is provided in the Good Schools Toolkit;
• Undertaking/leading trainings and other capacity building processes for schools and where applicable for key partner organizations relating to Good Schools Toolkit implementation;
• Providing ongoing technical support to schools/partners including onsite visits to project schools, communities and partners. The RRP is expected to monitor implementation by visiting each school at least once per term and making at least 5 remote contacts every term;
• Being an integral part of Raising Voices referral linkage receiving and reporting cases of VAC as a contribution to child safeguarding;
• Participating in Raising Voices’ Learning Center activities including trainings, reviews, and feedback sessions/processes;
• Participating in program planning processes at Raising Voices including action plan development and implementation;
• Supporting ongoing data collection activities as well as ongoing monitoring as need may arise;
• Providing monthly updates on activities as well as submit termly reports including specific activity in accordance with agreed formats/templates;
• Organize at least one annual regional/in-district awareness raising meeting/dialogue/training with district and community members including DEO, teachers, students, community leaders and parents on Child Safeguarding, VAC and Positive Discipline. Raising Voices will always be kept informed of any such activities; and
• Any other tasks as may be assigned by Raising Voices.

Remuneration: Raising Voices will provide a net monthly stipend of UGX 246,750. The stipend is reviewed from time to time depending on availability of funding.
