IRRIGATION SCHEMES DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN UNYAMA, NAMALU AND SIPI REGIONS, UGANDA
WATER AND ENVIRONMENT SECTOR

Consultancy Services to Undertake the Forestry Resources Inventory and Assessment as well as preparation of Forest Management Plans for selected Local Forest Reserves and Private Forests (Planted, Natural and Community Forests) in the Catchment Areas of Unyama, Namalu and Sipi Irrigation Schemes. The Republic of Uganda has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) towards the cost of the Irrigation Schemes Development Project in Unyama, Namalu, and Sipi regions. Uganda intends to apply part of the agreed financing to payments for consultancy services.

The services include:

1. Undertaking the Forestry Resources Inventory and Assessment covering the project areas.
2. Providing information about forest tree zones, including species diversity, distribution, and ecological status.
3. Developing Forest Management Plans for selected Local Forest Reserves and Private Forests within the project areas.

The duration of the services is 8 months.

Interested firms are invited to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the consultancy services. The selection process will follow the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Procurement Guidelines for the use of consultants.

Eligibility requirements:

• Firms should demonstrate their capacity and experience in forestry resources inventory and management.
• Firms must not have been declared ineligible by any international organization.
