Request for expression of interest: Consultancy service to develop operational manuals/ policies for UCA
Background
Established in 1961, Uganda Co-operative Alliance (UCA) Limited is the apex/umbrella body for all registered co-operative societies in Uganda covering different sectors of the economy.
UCA serves as the voice of the Co-operative Movement both nationally and internationally with a mandate to engage and advise Government on matters of policy relating to the Co-operative movement, carry out arbitration/ dispute resolution whenever they arise. UCA provides capacity building/ institutional development support, lobby and advocacy and resource mobilization for Co-operative Development among others.
It is upon the above mandate that UCA invites proposals from suitable, qualified and experienced firms/individuals for the provision of consultancy services to develop Operational Manuals namely;
• The UCA Board and Supervisory board Charter
• The Accounting, Finance and Procurement policy
The policies will provide proper guidelines to the UCA Board, supervisory and Management Staff on how to effectively and efficiently run UCA and the Cooperative Movement.
Requirements
• Interested firms/individuals should posses the following:
• Progressive experience for at least five (5) years in similar assignments.
• Registered with the relevant Government authorities with proof of a valid registration certificate.
• Valid operating license Knowledge on the legal, policy, principles, values and Co-operative global best practice.
• Knowledge on Accounting, Finance and procurement
• Have strong communication/reporting and editing/proofreading skills.
• Ability to deliver on time
