Request for proposals to develop a communication Strategy
Background
Established in 1961, UganSda Co-operative Alliance (UCA) Limited is the apex/umbrella body for all registered co-operative societies in Uganda covering different sectors of the economy.
UCA serves as the voice of the Co-operative Movement both nationally and internationally with a mandate to engage and advise Government on matters of policy relating to the Co-operative movement, carry out arbitration/ dispute resolution whenever they arise. UCA provides capacity building/ institutional development support, lobby and advocacy and resource mobilization for Co-operative Development among others.
UCA is seeking reputable firms/persons to undertake the assignment of developing a Communications Strategy.
This will include developing Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials that will focus on its members, other stakeholders and the general public.

Approach
• Conduct a desk review of the available communication channels such as meetings, social media and digital communities among others.
• Conduct a baseline assessment of the available tools to inform the development of the communications strategy.
• Advise on the specific and appropriate communication channels and dissemination methods that suits the Uganda Co-operative Alliance Limited
• Design a standard publication layout for UCA to consider for her future publications.
• Develop a guide for all communications on co-operative issues to ensure consistency in all formats of publications and communications products.
• Develop Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials about UCA with appropriate messages tailored for key stakeholders.
• Develop a costed implementation plan for the communications strategy.

Requirements Interested firms/individuals should posses the following
• Good understanding of the Co-operative Movement in Uganda
• A least five (5) years of progressive experience in strategic communications or public relations which must include developing a communications strategy at the regional or national levels.
• Ability to deliver on time
• Registered with the relevant Government authorities with proof of a valid registration certificate.
• Valid operating license
