JOB DETAILS:
Lira University's Faculty of Education is looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join our research team in the Department of Science and Vocational Education. The successful candidate will work on a project titled "Conserving the Past, Nourishing the Future: Unlocking the Agronomical Potential of Traditional Food Systems in Northern Uganda with Two Famine Crops," under the mentorship of Dr. Epila Jackie.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. The candidate must be in his/her first year of a master's program in a recognized Ugandan university; preferably in the field of agronomy, botany, plant biology, or ecology.
2. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, to efficiently interact with international partners and write reports.
3. The candidate must be proficient in reading and speaking Acholi and/or Lango languages.
4. The candidate should be willing to undertake extensive fieldwork in the Acholi and Lango sub-regions.
5. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the development of data collection tools for field surveys.
2. Conduct field sampling activities, and interviews.
3. Collect data on the presence and distribution of traditional crops.
4. Analyze data and prepare technical and scientific reports.
5. Use collected data to write a masters’ thesis.
6. Collaborate effectively with other team members and communicate proficiently with international partners.

Term:
1. Two-year contract with stipend.
