Job summary
The position of Research Manager is a full-time role based in Kampala, reporting directly to the Executive Director. The Research Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and conducting research activities within the organization.

Responsibilities and duties
• Manage and oversee all research projects, ensuring they align with the organization’s objectives and are conducted efficiently and ethically.
• Develop research project plans, including objectives, methodologies, timelines, and budgets.
• Supervise data collection efforts, which may involve surveys, interviews, focus groups, or other data-gathering methods.
• Lead the analysis of research data, employing appropriate statistical and analytical tools.
• Prepare comprehensive research reports, summarizing findings and making actionable recommendations.
• Ensure all research activities adhere to ethical guidelines and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance research initiatives and share insights.
• Manage research resources effectively, including budgets, equipment, and personnel.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Epidemiology, Public Health, social sciences, research, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in successfully managing research projects, encompassing project planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Possess strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
• Capability to work collaboratively within a team and engage effectively with external stakeholders.
• Highly organized, with robust project management skills to ensure efficient workflow.
• Diligence in maintaining attention to detail while meeting project deadlines.
