JOB DETAILS:
General Summary
The Active Prevention and Treatment of Maternal Sepsis (APT-Sepsis) is a Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial to assess the APT Sepsis bundle's effectiveness in preventing maternal sepsis. The Research Midwife will support the study coordinator in coordinating the study activities.

Key Responsibilities
• Work with all 22 Facility research assistants in 11 sites to oversee study implementation and compliance with the protocol, including participant recruitment, confidentiality, randomization, follow-up and safety monitoring, data collection, and documentation of study procedures.
• Participate in training, mentorship, and support supervision of facility teams.
• Work with the data manager to conduct data quality control and assurance reviews
• Generate and submit regular study progress reports and participate in study team meetings and conference calls
• Provide day-to-day support to facilities and supervision to ensure compliance with study guidelines and quality reporting.
• Actively participate and provide updates on progress in weekly project team meetings and MOH meetings relevant to maternal sepsis.
• Work with the Study coordinator, M&E special, and Grants to prepare work plans for the APT-Sepsis study
• Perform other duties as assigned that are directly related to this position

Person Specification
Educational requirements
• Diploma in midwifery
• Bachelor of Science in Midwifery is added advantage
• Full and up-to-date registration with the Nursing and midwifery council
• Recent clinical experience working in clinical care is desired.
• Training on Infection Prevention and control will be an added advantage

Working Experience, knowledge & skills
• At least 3 years of work experience in coordination of medical research.
• Understand client confidentiality and exhibits a high level of ethical conduct
• Good communication, coordination, organization, and managerial skills
• Basic computer literacy, including word processing, excel, internet and power point.
