Description
On behalf of our client pan-African, non-governmental, membership organisation based in Kampala, Uganda. The organisation exists to ensure that palliative and comprehensive chronic care is widely understood, integrated into all health systems across Africa, and underpinned by evidence to reduce pain and suffering associated with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses.
We are currently seeking a self-directed, experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Resource Mobilization Officer to be based in Kampala.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
• Support the Executive Director in the planning, development, and management of the organization Resources
• Mobilisation Strategy and activities, ensuring the effective engagement of stakeholders, strategy adjustments and innovation in fundraising approaches, in raising resources for the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support the Implementation of the organization’s Resource Mobilisation Strategy
• Support the ED to conduct market research on funding trends to determine donor priorities, identify new opportunities and funding sources, regulatory changes and best practices in not for-profit fundraising and keep up-to-date with the changing funding landscape consistent with organization objectives and strategy.
• Explore and identify grant opportunities and coordinate the proposal development process, liaising with the programme, finance, and M&E teams to submit winning proposals in a timely manner as directed by the ED.
• Collect data, analyse the success rates on proposals and critically evaluate the reasons for failure for learning purposes.
• Build and maintain an up to date and comprehensive database of funders and funding sources.
• Support the implementation of the Private Sector Engagement strategy. Identify and secure corporate partnerships and sponsorships with businesses for mutual benefits. This could involve negotiating sponsorship deals for events or establishing long-term corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnerships.
• Plan and execute fundraising events, such as charity galas and online campaigns and drives, to continuously engage the community and raise unrestricted funds for sustainability.
2. Contract Management Support
• Assist the ED liaise with the partners and funding agencies in establishing MOUs and agreements.
• Follow up on donor reporting and coordinate with programme, Finance and M&E Functions for ensuring timely and accurate reports to the ED.
• Support the ED in maintaining donor relations through regular effective and timely communication.
• Work with the ED’s Personal Assistant to plan and coordinate the ED’s travel arrangements to meet funders and stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, International Development, Communication, Marketing, Economics, International Relations
Experience:
• Three years of work experience with at least one year in resource mobilization
