Position: Sales Manager
Reporting to: Business Head – Special Projects
Locations: Kampala, Uganda
Key deliverables for this position
• Achieve growth and sales volumes and hit sales targets
• Ensure all SKUs are available in the entire market and the width of distribution is 100%
• Maintain and develop existing as well as new relationships with distributor(s)/dealer(s), agents, retailers to deliver sales targets
• Credit to be provided after getting prior approval from management in writing and as per company policy norms
• Work with management to forecast product demand to manage inventory levels
• Track product, and consumer trends, innovations and competitive activities
• Gather and update product portfolio and pricing information on all competitors
• Communicate all stock concerns to ensure appropriate stock levels in the market at all times
• Lead and inspire by setting the example of excellent service and selling techniques
• Always be approachable and an effective two-way communicator
• Pay strong attention to detail
• Thrive in a fast-paced business environment where flexibility is a key characteristic
• Have strong negotiation and presentation skills
• Must have a thorough and current handle on competition’s structure and strategies
• Clearly communicate in a timely consistent manner

• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

• To carry out any other duties as may from time to time be required by the Management
Duties & Responsibilities
• To prepare and monitor sales plan SKU wise
• To monitor and control all credit availed to customers
• To make field contacts with distributor(s) /dealer(s) sales force and evaluate the selling and merchandising skills
• To monitor and assist distributor(s) /dealer(s) stock using FIFO method
• Gather and update product portfolio and pricing information on all competitors
• Ensuring areas sales target achievement every month and reporting of same
• Salesman training and development (on job)
• Ensuring area coverage expansion plan, appointing new customers and report weekly
• Recommending brand development opportunities for his/her territory
• Taking operational responsibility for the point of purchase mapping exercise in his territory
• Controlling and planning daily load out of salespersons
• Introducing new distribution systems and make follow up
• Sending a monthly comprehensive written report on all regional activities to the Business Head – Special Projects
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent experience in Business
• 5+ years' of sales experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
