We are Zembo, the start-up paving the way to the e-mobility revolution in Africa. Zembo sells electric motorcycle taxis and offers a battery swap service via a network of stations. After six years of operation, Zembo is the most experienced African provider of electric motorcycles and battery swaps on the continent. We are scaling up in Uganda, providing an affordable and environmentally responsible mobility solution.

About the Role:
Our target customer is the hardworking professional boda-boda driver. We are looking for a Sales Associate who will be responsible for driving customer recruitment, product delivery, and maintaining an excellent customer experience. Do you want to do work that matters? You will have a lot of responsibilities, autonomy, and the possibility to shape our young company.
The Sales Associate will be responsible to generate customer recruitment, ensure product delivery, and an excellent overall customer experience. The role will spend 70% of time in the field originating new customers. Compensation will include a mix of salary and commissions.
Key Responsibilities
• Achieve Sales targets, Key Results in relation to the overall company Key Results
• Identify new sources of target clients (Boda drivers doing very high km per day within the Kamapala metropolitan), pitch them and close sales
• Ensure excellent customer relations and thorough customer education.
• Help us understand our target customer better than any other company in Africa through supporting market research and customer surveys.
• Live, understand, and clearly communicate our target customer’s needs and ensure Zembo provides the best overall mobility solution for Boda Boda drivers.

Requirements
• You have sales experience, enjoy customer service and are ready to work in the field to make a difference
• Minimum 2 years of relevant prior professional experience.
• Experience in sales administration and customer education.
• Fluency in English and Luganda
• Excellent communication skills
• Ease and acumen with cold calling and prospecting
• Motivated and target-driven with demonstrated success in sales
• The knack to create and deliver engaging presentations customized to your audience
• A strong work ethics and the ability to manage shifting priorities and unforeseen challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while managing time well
• Ability to market easily and sell to even the toughest crowd.
• Proficiency using MS Office
