JOB DETAILS:

Reporting to: Sales & Marketing Manager
Department: Marketing

Job Aim/Overall Purpose/Job Summary:
As a Sales & Marketing assistant, your role involves market research, market development, negotiations, data analysis, and achieving sales targets. You will collaborate with the Sales & Marketing Manager to execute sales strategies, handle customer inquiries, and maintain customer portfolios.
You will be responsible for selling company products direct from the Farm and meeting customer needs while obtaining orders from existing or potential sales outlets, nearby markets, outdoor selling and also use your IT skills to develop online selling for our products.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Market Research and Analysis
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for sales growth for the company flour and starch.
• Perform competitor analysis, including pricing and market tracking.
• Assist in analyzing data to extract insights and support decision-making in the marketing department.
Sales and Marketing Support
• Assist in planning and executing sales and marketing strategies with the Marketing Manager.
• Oversee marketing campaigns and handle customer inquiries.
• Assist in the development and execution of sales strategies to achieve company targets.
• Identify and research potential markets, industries, and customers.
• Prepare and deliver sales presentations to potential clients.
• Assist in the creation of marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and promotional content.
• Create and manage social media accounts and enhance brand awareness.
• Coordinate and participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and promotional events.
• Maintain a detailed record of customer interactions and transactions in the Marketing and Sales company Drive.
• Conduct follow-ups with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
Customer Relationship Management
• Develop and maintain customer portfolios, actively selling products.
• Build long-term relationships with existing customers to maximize returns and also create a new customer base.
• Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Provide after-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve products and services.
Financial Management
• Assist in budgeting, accurately forecasting costs, and tracking spend in the marketing department.
Fieldwork and Market Visits
• Conduct fieldwork and visits to market products to different companies.
Administrative Support
• Maintain schedules, visitor sign-in, and record-keeping with the Sales & Marketing Manager.
• Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics.
• Maintain an organized database of sales leads, prospects, and customer information.
• Assist in the preparation of sales contracts, proposals, and quotations.
• Coordinate relations with suppliers, agencies, and communities.

Additional Remarks:
• Willingness to respond positively to any extra duties assigned by Management.
• Articulate and good communication skills.
• Ability to analyze supply, demand, and trade flow fundamentals.
• Strong IT skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
• Good knowledge of marketing techniques and consumer awareness.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be a team player.

Working Conditions:
• Some roles may require travel to different parts of the country.
• Involves lifting and carrying sample products weighing up to 10 kilograms.
• Might require the use of a motorcycle or Bodaboda within Kampala city to save time and avoid traffic jams.

Minimum qualifications:
• At least a diploma in any business-related field of study such as business administration, sales, and marketing.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in selling flour and starch products.
• Proficient use of MS office suite.
• Additional certification and training in sales and marketing is an advantage.
