Background
Enabel in Uganda is seeking to recruit dynamic and competent individuals to fill 2 vacancies for the position of Sector Expert Business and Human Rights based in Kampala with frequent travel to the field offices.
The person is responsible for strengthening institutional capacities to implement the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights enhanced.
Job description
• You lead and coordinate needs assessments, sensitisations, training, capacity building, supervision and mentorship activities
• You provide technical assistance to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to enhance their institutional capacity to communicate and coordinate on business and human rights
• You contribute to updating the Theory of Change of the project and to adapting, where applicable, the proposed chain of results
• You build capacity of the MDAs to enhance institutional capacity to engage communities and provide access to remedy
• You provide technical support to MDAs to enhance institutional capacity to regulate and monitor business and human rights

Your profile
• Master’s degree in Development Studies, Law, Management, or a comparable field of studies
• At least 8 years of relevant professional working experience in working/supporting government Ministries, Departments and Agencies and Business and Human rights
• You have a broad and in-depth understanding of the various aspects of international cooperation (context, challenges, strengths, partners, functioning, etc.)
• Familiar with the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights
• Knowledgeable about the operations of government ministries and departments
• Knowledgeable about knowledge management and knowledge building
• Excellent analysis and report writing skills, including the ability to develop presentations and deliver them to national and international level
• Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
• Experience in working with officials of government ministries, Private Sector, CSOs, employers’ and workers’ organizations is an advantage.
