Enabel in Uganda is seeking to recruit a Sector Expert - Gender and Inclusion based in Kampala
The expert is responsible for the implementation of the vision and the strategy of the Belgian development cooperation by ensuring the integration of gender equality, women’s empowerment and related themes in project implementation. Major Roles and Responsibilities
• You lead the implementation of gender-related activities in the social protection project by providing inputs for planning, execution, coordination as well as monitoring and evaluation of activities in order to ensure that project results (outputs & outcomes) are achieved within the set execution deadline.
• You provide the necessary technical input in the area of gender and inclusion in order to achieve the project’s technical performance in accordance with national and international norms and standards.
• You contribute to knowledge building and knowledge management in Gender and Inclusion.
• You develop capacities of different partners in order to contribute to the improvement of their organisations, processes and systems and staff competences.

Required Qualifications and experience
• Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Social Administration, Law, Economics, Education, Development studies or a comparable field.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional working experience in the domain of gender and inclusion.
• At least 2 years in social protection (economic empowerment, world of work, …)
• Experience working for a development organization is an asset (bi-lateral or multi-lateral agency, NGO).
Required skills and knowledge
• You have broad and in-depth understanding of the various aspects of international cooperation (context, challenges, strengths, partners, functioning, etc.)
• Experience working with government ministries, private sector, Civil Society Organizations, employers’ and workers’ organizations is an advantage.
• Ability to deal with people with tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to demonstrate gender-sensitive and non-discriminatory behavior and attitude.
• Experience in project cycle management (logical framework, monitoring and evaluation, Results Based Management)
• Good knowledge of gender and women’s economic empowerment in the communities and in the world of work.
• Good knowledge and understanding of gender and market-oriented small business development services.
• Experience in gender and inclusion policy, legal and institutional framework in Uganda
• Knowledge of change theories.
• Knowledgeable about knowledge management and knowledge building
• Good working knowledge of Computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
