JOB DETAILS:
Our Client, is a not-for-profit organization based in Kampala, Uganda specialized in the provision of health technical assistance, supply chain management services for management of health commodities in Africa for the last 25 years.

Overall purpose of the Job:
To Manage the maintenance of proper accounting records and financial information of the organization.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
• Leads the implementation and maintenance of a strong internal control environment for the organization.
• Ensure maintenance of proper accounting records and financial information of the organization including GL integrity, management accounting functions, accounts reconciliation and variance investigation.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Identify staff training needs in the department, develop. and execute training plans ensuring that facilitators develop training materials ahead of the training.
• Oversee processing of LCs, funds drawdowns and payables reporting & reconciliation
• Cashflow forecasting and planning.
• Coordinate internal reviews, internal and external audit activities for timely completion.
• Project budget monitoring and control to identify areas of low absorption and driving action for utilization.
• Ensure compliance with grant required financial reporting. Follow up management letter issues and recommendations to ensure full implementation.
• Ensure completeness of SAP system data, perform the month end closure procedures and lock SAP for the previous month, and facilitate running of monthly reports.
• Monitor and control cash outflow associated with payables and payments, forecasting cash flows. managing banking relationships, and optimizing the use of cash to ensure that the company has sufficient cash to meet its obligations.
• Lead the development and evaluation of training programs to meet the organization's financial goals.
• Lead payables reconciliation process to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Forecasting cash flows and plan to optimize the use of cash.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting. Business Administration (with Accounting option). Commerce, Statistics or any other related field from a recognized University
• Professional qualification in CPA, ACCA, CFA
• Working knowledge of SAP ERP or any other Finance Information system

Work experience:
• 4-5 years relevant work experience in a reputable organization.
• Experience working for an Audit Firm or United States Government Donor Funded Project will be an added advantage.
