Senior Accountants Officer at Mogo

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure accurate and timely record keeping in the Company’s financial system SAP in accordance with local GAAP requirements.
  2. Calculation of monthly tax payables; ensure timely tax filing and settlement with the Ugandan Revenue Authority.
  3. Handle tax audits and liaise with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) on any tax-related matters.
  4. Preparation of month-end reconciliations.
  5. Posting of bank entries and making sure they are correctly allocated to the right vendor or balance sheet item.
  6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
  7. Maintain compliance with all URA and NSSF regulations.
  8. Active participation in annual financial audit process and preparation of the annual financial statements.
  9. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  10. Support to junior accounting staff to enhance team efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A University degree in the relevant field from a reputable organization.
  • A post graduate qualification that is relevant to the role and evidence of continued professional development is an added advantage.
  • CPA qualification is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience in Accounting for at least 2 years.
  • Prior experience in a financial institution is an added advantage.
