Join our team in Papule, Northern Uganda where we combine sales of quality agro-inputs with up-to-date information, advice and training MWH is an impact investor that uses its means and talents to improve the lives of smallholders. Among other activities MWH runs a retail chain of agro-support centers in Northern Uganda. We run our activities in a business manner. Dissemination of agro knowledge, measuring of impact and linking research with the daily practice of smallholders is integral part of our work. The Senior Agro Knowledge Officer reports directly to the Country Director. .
Job Responsibilities:
• Investigate and map information gaps
• Promote the HUB/ MWH as a reliable long-term partner for smallholders
• Build and maintain a network with other relevant actors in the region
• Turn our Farmers Resource Center into a place of knowledge dissemination, research, demonstration and innovation taking the daily practice of smallholders as s staring point
• Support our field staff in their agro knowledge and skills development
• Impact assessment
• Station supervisor
Core competencies and skills:
• Demonstrated understanding of knowledge dissemination principles and capacity to deliver knowledge dissemination and/or organizational learning activities
• Excellent facilitation, program/activity management, and written and oral communication skills
• Leadership and team building abilities
• Good track record of agricultural information research
• Good data collection and analysis skills
• Fluency in Lou
• Valid riding permit for motorbike
Qualifications and Experience:
• An Honors’ Bachelor’s degree in an agro related subject with a minimum of five years’ experience. A Master’s degree is preferred.
